Volleywood

Last month was the Kahuku High School volleyball homecoming and I was asked to make cupcakes to mark this special occasion. The theme for the night was "volleywood" and wish I had my camera to capture the whole area of decor- it was worthy of the stars. I luckly had an extra cupcake at home to snap a picture of, unfortunately I didn't have pictures of the rest. Cupcakes were red velvet with whipped cream cheese frosting with sugar cookie decorations- volleyballs (pictured) and stars.

Happy Birthday Mason!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of making cupcakes for an adorable 1 year old's birthday party. The theme was "Curious George" so banana was a must. Cupcake flavors were Banana Cream Pie (Graham cracker crust, banana cake, with whipped cream frosting) and Chocolate Covered Bananas (Banana and chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting- decorated with a yellow hat sugar cookie and (blue) white chocolate star). I wasn't able to be there to see him gobble any cake but I heard that the party was a great success. Thank you again to his mommy, Jenny, for letting me help out with this special day!
Here are a few pictures for you drool over :)

I love how it came together (Jason helped me make the stand and I got crafty to make it look like a palm tree)...

Hoku's 1st Birthday

On Saturday was my baby cousin- Hoku- 1st birthday. The theme was stars with "colorful". She is the cutest baby, full of curiosity and love. I can hardly believe that it was a year ago when we were welcoming her into the world.
Here she is with her cupcakes/cake before her "happy birthday"- She knows what she wants...

If you could see her face here, she is crying for the cupcakes ;)

Satisfied customer... mmmmmm...

Her cake- up close (yellow cake with whipping frosting)...

Flavors of the cupcakes: Pictured- Chewy Fudge Marble (chocolate brownie bottom, yellow and fudge swirl cake, vanilla whipped cream frosting) and Chocolate Chocolate Chip with Cream Cheese frosting.

Tahitian Vanilla

If I ever find myself in the area of Ward warehouse (purposefully or not ;), I MUST make a stop in Executive Chef! And today was just one of those days... AND LOOK WHAT I FOUND!
TAHITIAN VANILLA SUGAR!

I had to have it, I mean, who doesn't think that would be a FABULOUS cupcake flavor ...?
So, a few hours later (Vanilla cake, dairy whipped vanilla frosting, with crust of vanilla sugar)... mmmmmmm...

Let me tell you, it was delicious! It is definitely going on the flavors list :)

Youth Conference

Since Jason serves as the young men president in our ward, he participated in the planning of our stake youth conference, and happened to be assigned to the food committee. After one of his Sunday meetings, he came home and said "I volunteered you to make cupcakes" ... 500 cupcakes later, here was the result :)
Flavors included Smores (graham cracker crust, chocolate cake, toasted marshmallow frosting, with fudge and graham cracker toppings), Cookies & Cream (white batter and oreo cookie batter, whipped oreo frosting, and oreo cookie topper), and Strawberries & Cream (strawberry cake with dairy whipped cream frosting).

Alice In Wonderland

A while back I got asked to make some cupcakes for an "Alice in Wonderland" tea party photoshoot. I made a themed muffin-sized cake for each of the main characters (queen of hearts, mad hatter, the white queen, and of course- Alice) and also a dozen or so tea party cakes (pictured: also designed for the movie theme). Unfortunately, this is the only image that I saved; maybe someone wants a Alice in Wonderland tea party soon and that will change :)
Flavor was French Vanilla with vanilla buttercream frosting- colored of course.
